Summer 2019. Back then, we focused on liquidations: trucks full of returns from Amazon, Lidl, Carrefour, and other large retailers. We also repaired and refurbished appliances.
One day, while fixing a Roomba robot vacuum, one of our technicians showed me that the machine looked brand new… except for one detail: the wheels were slipping. The tires were completely smooth.
I said: "Let's buy new tires." He replied: "They don't exist. You have to change the whole wheel module."
That answer stuck with me. They don't exist? Then let's create them.
And that's how our story in the world of spare parts began.
We manufactured our first mold in Elda (Alicante), the cradle of footwear, with the help of a specialist in heel molds. After several trials, the tire fit perfectly and offered huge savings to the customer. It was then that we started selling on Amazon.
Shortly after, the pandemic hit. We had to stop everything. There were five people on the team, and I was left alone. I only left home to prepare shipments for Amazon FBA. Against all odds, that small tire was a resounding success: over a million euros in sales with a single SKU. It saved us from the crisis.
We restarted the business under a new company: MAYABLE SL. Since then, we have created over 40 of our own molds. We manufacture in Elda and import more complex components such as motors, batteries, and connectors.
We were the first to launch replacement tires for Roomba. Although imitations followed, our product remains a common reference for vacuum cleaners worldwide.
